last week of april!

This week in class we learned about operant conditioning. The punishments and reinforcements. I can really relate to this because whenever i want to go out with my friends one night my mom will tell me that i can't until my room is clean. So I will give in cause i don't feel like arguing and go quickly clean my room and then go out with my friends.

This week in class we learned about Elisabeth Kubler-Ross's five stages of death. I recently knew some one who was having cancer for the 4th time. Each time that she had cancer the chemo would hit her really hard and something bad would happen to her. When she got cancer for the fourth time it was the worst and she got really weak and sick. We learned in class that you may not experience all the stages of death and you may skip some. She showed us that you can skip some stages of death. The first time the cancer hit her hard and she couldn't believe that it was true.Out of everyone in this world she got hit with it.Then by the fourth time; in the beginning she became really depressed because this women was and never would be ready to leave this earth. She always had her hands full of jobs to do. When she kept on getting weaker and weaker she finally realized that she was going to die and she also realized that it was for the better. She never bargained with god or got angry with having cancer because she knew that she would just have to stay strong and fight the battle for herself and for the people that really care about her.

week april 12 to the 16

This week we learned about brain development and the stages of cognitive development. My sister works with a little autistic boy. He is only 6 years old and he has lots of thing wrong with him. Studies show kids at his age are going through preoperational development. He is not really learning to talk; for him to tell you want he wants he points and grabs for thing. For how old he is hes a whole development behind all the other kids. The stories my sister tells me about the things this little boy does; are a lot like the things that the little 1 and 2 year old I babysit do. This little boy acts like he is 2 years old and he doesn't even know that he should be acting more mature and should be talking a lot more than he is. I feel bad for this boy because he can't help that his brain isn't developing the way it should.

March 29- April 1

This week in class we learned a lot about the different studies and types of psychology. One of the studies that stood out the most for me was Biological Psychology. It stood out to me because I was always told that I am a lot like my sister or brother. I realized that my behavior and my siblings behavior was passed down to us and that there is a good chance that we will all act the same and do the same things. I guess that i just have to except the fact that I am going to act like my siblings because it is in our genes to behave the same way.
