week may 24-28
This week in class we talk about all the different thing people could have. One of them was mood disorders. i know someone who can relate really well to this. She had something bad happen to her a couple of years ago and she is still suffering from it. She is been going through depression and trying to seek help. Noting really is working; her memories keep coming back and she keeps going into her depression mode. The "doctors" said that she probably has major depression disorder and her depression will keep showing up through out the years. It's not what everyone wanted to hear but we are all here for her and try to help with her depression.

may 17 to 21
this week in school we learned about anxiety. Part of anxiety is phobias. I can relate to having a phobia because i have one of people touching or grabbing my neck. One way they said to over come the phobia is to relate to it and get use to it, so my brother thinks it funny to grab my neck. I flip out like hard core and i hate it. I don't think being around your phobia works because i just keep getting more and more scared about people grabbing my neck.

class work week blog
1) H.M. was a guy who let people study him until the day he died. They would study his memory. He played a big role in helping psychologist learn the link between brain function and memory.
2) Physiologist took from H.M. was how the function and the structure of the brain is related to specific psychological processes.
3) Me as a student can take from H.M. is understanding a little better of what parts of my brain do what and what parts of it controls my memory. I can also take in from him is how my memory works.

may 3 to the 7th
This week in class we learned about memory. I can relate to it easily. I have memories from one minute ago to long time ago. My best friend moved away from me, and sometimes when we talk to each other we ask each other if they remember something that we did or that happen to us when we were little. The other one will be like oh yes i remember that and add something from that memory. The other person will then might add more things or correct them if they are wrong.

article!
http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-couch/201004/are-women-wusses
This article started off with a story about a women getting offended in her last session with the psychologist when he called her competitive. Then it went on about how women and men are both compared to each other, and how mainly women get compared to men. It also tells us more story's on stereotypes and women being compared to men.
Women have been compared to men and set equal to men for hundreds of years. More in this time period women get compared to men a lot. Ever since we started to get our freedom where we can do what ever men can do. This is a great example of positive punishment. Women are being punished and getting punished by other people because they aren't as strong or hard working at a "man's job" as a man would be.

This week in class we learned about Elisabeth Kubler-Ross's five stages of death. I recently knew some one who was having cancer for the 4th time. Each time that she had cancer the chemo would hit her really hard and something bad would happen to her. When she got cancer for the fourth time it was the worst and she got really weak and sick. We learned in class that you may not experience all the stages of death and you may skip some. She showed us that you can skip some stages of death. The first time the cancer hit her hard and she couldn't believe that it was true.Out of everyone in this world she got hit with it.Then by the fourth time; in the beginning she became really depressed because this women was and never would be ready to leave this earth. She always had her hands full of jobs to do. When she kept on getting weaker and weaker she finally realized that she was going to die and she also realized that it was for the better. She never bargained with god or got angry with having cancer because she knew that she would just have to stay strong and fight the battle for herself and for the people that really care about her.

week april 12 to the 16
This week we learned about brain development and the stages of cognitive development. My sister works with a little autistic boy. He is only 6 years old and he has lots of thing wrong with him. Studies show kids at his age are going through preoperational development. He is not really learning to talk; for him to tell you want he wants he points and grabs for thing. For how old he is hes a whole development behind all the other kids. The stories my sister tells me about the things this little boy does; are a lot like the things that the little 1 and 2 year old I babysit do. This little boy acts like he is 2 years old and he doesn't even know that he should be acting more mature and should be talking a lot more than he is. I feel bad for this boy because he can't help that his brain isn't developing the way it should.

March 29- April 1
This week in class we learned a lot about the different studies and types of psychology. One of the studies that stood out the most for me was Biological Psychology. It stood out to me because I was always told that I am a lot like my sister or brother. I realized that my behavior and my siblings behavior was passed down to us and that there is a good chance that we will all act the same and do the same things. I guess that i just have to except the fact that I am going to act like my siblings because it is in our genes to behave the same way.

About Me!
Hello, I am Alicia Reschke, and I am 16 years old. I enjoy being outside. I like to play soccer and I also bowl. I like to run, listen to music, hunt and fish. I have a sister and a brother; they are both older than me. What I know about Psychology is not that much. I know its the study of humans and their behavior. I took this class because my sister told me that is was a good and interesting class. I hope to get out of this class is a better understanding of human behavior, and why people do the things they do.
